Description:
The
Balamandiyoun Newsletter is the official journal of the Alumni Association
of the University of Balamand. It is a journal that reflects the opinions
thoughts and achievements of our graduates. It also holds a dairy of past events
and a calendar of future activities.
Aims and Scope:
The Newsletter aims at providing UOB Alumni with information
about recent alma mater achievements and dreams. It, likewise, contains articles
that report on events that were organized by the Committee. The main aim of
Balamandiyoun is to keep all members up-to-date of news of their friends and
colleagues.
Submission
Guidelines:
Submissions
can be of three kinds:
a.
Full-length articles (not
exceeding 3 pages and including bibliography if relevant) relevant to the
diverse aspects of UOB alumni fields. They should focus on situations from which
readers would be able to benefit form current issues in our respective fields of
study.
b.
Personal-viewpoint pieces (not
exceeding 1 pages) on issues, opinions, suggestions on topics related to the
Association itself.
c.
Focus pieces (not exceeding 1
page) on the current professional achievements of UOB graduates.
Ø
All manuscripts must follow
standard guidelines regarding documentation of sources (conventions specified in
the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (4th
ed.) preferred).
Ø
Manuscripts should be typed and
double-spaced throughout.
Ø
Authors should include a cover
sheet with the title, author’s name, position and contact address/phone number,
e-mail, and fifty-word personal statement. No reference to the author should
appear in the manuscript itself in order to assure an impartial review.
Ø
If a manuscript has been
formerly published and the author holds the copyright, this should be mentioned
in the cover letter with the date and place of publication.
Ø
Photographs and samples are
welcome. Material must be clear and sharp accompanied by clear captions. Number
material at the back with a soft pencil or felt tip and provide captions on a
separate sheet of paper.
Ø
If possible, send manuscripts on
a diskette or e-mail as an attachment using Word for Windows.
